The Marathon County Health Department annually inspects all permanent and temporary tattoo and body art facilities for compliance with Chapter SPS 221 Tattooing and Body Piercing. The Health Department licenses the facility but does not license the practitioner. Practitioners are licensed by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).
