Request for a cremation viewing

Funeral homes in the Wausau Metro area are visited on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

If your funeral home is stationed outside of the Wausau Metro Area, please contact our on-call investigator to request a viewing prior to the decedent leaving the area at 715-261-7792.

Request for disinterment          

Disinterment Permit application forms are available by contacting the Medical Examiner's Office at 715-261-1199 or MedicalExaminer.Office@co.marathon.wi.us. The form must be filled out completely and notarized before it can be processed. The cost for a disinterment permit is $266.25.
