Winter Storage
Due to the high demand the department processes all winter storage requests through a lottery system. Individuals who wish to store any item for the upcoming winter with us should enroll in the lottery which opens annually in July and remains open until mid-August. Enrollment can be completed online or you may contact the Parks office. Separate lottery sign-ups exist for short door (9’7” and below) and tall door (9’8” to 11’6”). All individuals who typically enroll in the short door storage typically get in for storage. Tall door is much more competitive due to the limited space available for those units.
Process Overview
- Enroll in the correct size door lottery between July and mid-August.
- After lottery registration closes, the Parks Department will generate a random order list to contact individuals to enroll in storage process.
- The Parks Department will contact individuals by their placement on the random order list until all available space is spoken for.
- The department aims to have contact with all individuals before September 1st annually.
- Department staff will contact individuals via phone to inform them that it is their turn in the storage lottery. They will have 48 hours to respond and confirm that they are still looking for storage and provide us their storage details. If they do not respond within 48 hours, department staff will move on to the next individual on the list.
- Failure to return a phone call before all space is booked will result in your loss of storage opportunity.
- If in the event extra spaces exists after all lottery participants have booked their desired space, the remaining spots will be open to the general public on a first come first serve basis by contacting the Parks office.
